Making things with my hands has always been part of my life. As a child, I sold friendship bracelets at recess, with the proceeds going to a food charity. Later came wire insects - some still decorate the plants in my family home - then crocheted clothes I still wear today. Fifteen years ago, I shaped my first metal wire bracelet: roses twisted thread by thread. It still follows me through every move, in my jewelry box. There's something soothing, and so rewarding, about watching something come to life in your hands, out of almost nothing.
I've always worked a lot with thread - friendship bracelets, crochet, macramé, microcrochet. But metal draws me in just as much: I even went through a chainmail phase! Today, what I love is transforming metal wire: braiding it, twisting it, coiling it, hammering it. Each technique opens up an almost endless range of possibilities, especially once you add beads and crystals. One day I'll also learn to solder and melt metal, to go even further.
I love jewelry, I wear it every day - earrings especially. When I was younger, I sometimes struggled to feel fully feminine. Today, a pair of earrings is what finishes an outfit, what makes me feel "dressed." Making them myself let me explore colors and styles until I found what truly feels like me. Necklaces, I'm only just relearning to wear - and I'm loving every bit of it.
Beauty. Elegance. Originality. Pleasure. Freedom. These are the values that guide every piece I create. I want the women who wear my jewelry to feel free, original, beautiful - exactly as they are. I draw inspiration from the women around me: my mother, my sister, so strong and original in their choices and the way they carry themselves. My wish is to create jewelry that reflects them, that makes them proud of who they are, confident, ready to move mountains. That's where Atelier Mewira was born: metal wire sculpted to bring out your best.
These thoughts take shape here. The ideas that flow, the beads to choose, and then, sometimes, several hours for a single pair of earrings - wire hammered to catch the light, twisted and re-twisted until it finds the right shape. I'm constantly experimenting with new techniques and new materials, so I can offer jewelry that suits every woman: those who love discreet pieces and those who want to make a statement. Everything is designed, crafted, and shipped from my workshop, in France. That's the story behind Atelier Mewira. I hope it makes you want to discover my creations - each one carries a little piece of this journey.
